Robinson joins LMA as CEO

Charleston, SC --- The board of directors of Lowcountry Medical Associates, PC (LMA) has selected Greg Robinson as the company's new CEO. Robinson arrived April 12, 2004 and succeeds Wes McKenna, who has served as CEO since the inception of LMA in 1999.

"We are thrilled that he has accepted this position and we look forward to benefiting from his guidance and leadership," said Strait Fairey Jr., MD, president of LMA. "Our search committee interviewed many candidates and when we met Greg it was obvious that he was a true match. Everyone was extremely impressed with his concern for the doctor-patient relationship and thus the board unanimously approved his appointment," Fairey continued.

Prior to joining LMA, Robinson was director of business venture development at Medical College of Georgia (MCG) in Augusta, Georgia for four years. In this role, Robinson was responsible for the development of inpatient and outpatient services, including the development of primary care services and innovative medical services. Robinson has diverse health care management experience, including construction and operation of medical office buildings, outpatient surgical centers and an imaging center. He created community health centers and oversaw the operation of a community mobile health van that provided health screens and vaccinations to underserved communities. Robinson also developed the largest home health agency in northeast Georgia and started the first hospice program in the area.

Robinson is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and the Medical Group Managers Association (MGMA). He is a graduate of Duke University where he achieved a bachelor degree in zoology. After undergraduate school, he attended Southern Illinois University where he completed a master of business administration with an emphasis in health care. Robinson also served in the US Navy as a damage control officer and explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) instructor for five years.

Robinson and his wife, Mary, have a daughter and son, both students at the University of South Carolina at Aiken.
