LMA's 2004 American Heart Walk Team
Lowcountry Medical Associates (LMA) is excited to announce we recently placed fourth in the American Heart Association's 2004 Heart Walk - raising more than $11,000 to help fight heart disease and stroke. LMA lead the way with large employers in the Charleston community including the top three teams MUSC, Charleston County and Roper St. Francis Healthcare. Last year, LMA received the "raising the bar award."

This year's efforts were coordinated by Julie Radabaugh, a corporate employee of LMA. "Fighting heart disease and stroke is a significant concern for our physicians and staff. Any step we can take to achieve and promote wellness in our community is important for our patients," said Radabaugh.

All leadership levels participated in the heart walk this year, including president, Strait Fairey, MD, and CEO, Greg Robinson. Their participation also included donating their personal parking spots as an internal fund raiser. The practices also sold heart strings to remember or honor loved ones with heart disease or stroke as well as company specific T-shirts.

LMA also has a special "Little Heart" within our family. One of our employees, Cindy Peeples who works at our East Cooper Internal Medicine location has a son, JB Peeples who survived heart surgery. At only 10 years old, JB is active and is a true vision of why LMA takes heart disease and stroke seriously.

We look forward to continuing our community efforts in the future and welcome our patients to join us in assisting the American Heart Association in future fundraising activities.
